Pick-up Class Rules
Vehicle Type
A. Any 2-wheel drive full size pick-up, 1/2 or 3/4 ton
B. Rear wheel drive only
Safety Equipment
A. Fire suit is recommended for all drivers, long sleeves must be worn while on race track
B. All race vehicles must have fire extinguishers mounted within drivers reach while driver is strapped in car
C. All race vehicles must have 4-point aircraft style or racing style restraints, with quick release , 5- point recommended
D. All race vehicles must use drivers window net with quick release mounted within drivers reach while strapped in seat
E. Battery must be securely mounted and covered
F. Battery must be seperated from fuel cell by firewall
G. All switches must be clearly marked and labeled
Roll Cage Requirements
A. 4-point full width cage minimum required
B. Truck must have full roll cage with 4-side bars on driver side and 3-side bars on passenger side
C. Truck must have 2-kicker bars from top of roll cage to behind rear axle
D. Front loop optional
E. Minimum tubing size 1.25" I.D. schedule 40 pipe
F. Mainloop must be over drivers head
G. Safety harness should be mounted to cage
H. Roll cage must be mounted to frame
Body
A. Truck must be long or short bed
B. Truck must have full bed with tail gate, cover top if bottom is cut out
C. Truck may radius fenders for clearance , no sharp edges allowed
D. Truck must have all glass removed
E. Tow loop must be welded to front and rear frame
F. side bars maximum 1" away from body
G. Side bar ends must be smooth radius that terminate at least 3" inside body , no sharp corners
Bumpers
A. Truck must use stock bumpers front and rear
Front End/ Front Suspension
A. Truck must remain stock suspension
Rear Suspension
A. Welding or chaining of rear differential is allowed
B. Drive shaft must be painted white and have safety loop
Engine
A. Engine must be of parent manufacturer
B. Holley carb. allowed
C. Engine must have stock cast iron intake and exhaust
D. Engine components must remain stock, pistons,cam , etc
E. Engine will retain stock compression ratio
F. Exhaust must extend and exit behind driver
G. Fuel cell or tank must be mounted in bed, 16 gallon max
H. $1200.00 buyout on motor. if someone buys out a motor it must be run the following weekend in their race vehicle
Transmission
A. Stock automatic transmission with torque converter
B. Stock standard transmission with clutch and pressure plate
C. Must have forward and reverse
D. Must be self starting out of gear and must be able to shift into gear while running
Tirs and Rims
A. Tires must be D.O.T. approved max . 255-70 series
B. 8" tread width maximum
C. Maximum 14/32" depth outside lug
D. No snow grooved or studded tires allowed
E. Use of racing tires not allowed
F. Steel wheel only maximum 8" width
Fuel/Fuel Tanks
A. Gasoline only
B. Fuel tanks must be securely mounted and have a spill check valve
C. Use of fuel cells recommended
Numbers
A. Trucks shall be numbered on both sides and hood
B. All numbers shall be 18" tall and of contrasting colors
C. Numbers shall be legible from grand stands
