Modified Lite Rules
Vehicle type / Wheelbase
A. No upright sprint style chassis allowed
B. Vehicle wheelbase 86" minimum
C. Vehicle wheelbase 102" maximum
D. Rear wheel drive only
Safety Equipment
A. Fire suit is recommended for drivers, long sleeves required on race track
B. Must have fire extinguisher, mounted within drivers reach while driver is strapped in seat
C. Use of 5 point harness required, belts will be securely mounted to chassis or frame
D. Use of drivers window net required, or dual arm restraints, must be able to be realeased by driver strapped in seat
E. All switches must be clearly marked and within drivers reach while strapped in car
F. Suggested switch placement is center of dash within reach from both sides for emergency personel
Body
A. Cars may have outlaw wedge, scaled down late model or IMCA modified body
B. Rear spoilers allowed, spoiler shall not be wider than the body, spoiler side braces may be a maximum of 18" long and must be triangular in shape
C. All edges must be folded or protected with no sharp egdges exposed
D. Must have a completely enclosed interior
E. Front / side firewall along driver, steel suggested
F. Rear firewall behind drivers seat required , must seperate driver and fuel cell
G. Roof wing allowed, roof wings must be securely fastened in four places, side spill plate must not obstruct drivers vision
H. No use of window glass
Bumpers
A. Front and rear bumpers must be capped off with no sharp edges, or bend ends at angle back to frame
B. Bumper height should be between 14"-18"
Frame / Chassis / Roll cage
A. Chassis and roll cage constructed of steel with main roll cage and door bars of at least 1.5 " by .095 wall DOM tubing or 1.25 " ID pipe
B. Main hoop behind driver 1.25" ID minimum
C. Top loop above driver 2" minimum above drivers helmet
D. Front pillars 1.25" ID minimu,
E. Minimum of three door bars on drivers side, bracing required
F. One side door bar must be between 14"-18"
G. Minimum of two door bars on passenger side of car, bracing required
H. No sharp edges alloewd
I. Frame must include rear hoop to to guard fuel sell
Front end / Front suspension
A. Open , use of adjustable coil over shocks allowed
Differential / Rear suspension
A. Open , use of adjustable coil over shocks allowed
B. Must be production rear end
C. No quick change rear ends allowed
Engine
A. Automotive production 4-cylinder engine, cast iron block
B. 2300 cc maximum displacement
C. single cam engine, .060" overbore allowed
Head
A. Factory OEM production heads only , shaving of head is allowed
Camshaft
A. Open aftermarket cam shafts allowed, roller cam shaft allowed , use of cam degree allowed
Intake Manifold
A. Open , OEM, factory or aftermarket intake allowed
Carburetor
A. Naturally aspirated single carb, OEM or aftermarket 2- barrell carb , 500 cfm maximum
Distributor / ignition
A. Open , points or electric
B. Use of aftermarket MSD style ignition boxes OK
C. No magnetos allowed
Transmission
A. Factory OEM automatic or manual transmission
B. Must have foreward and reverse
C. Must be self starting out of gear and must be able to shift into gear while running
Clutch
A. Must have working clutch , must be able to disengage engine drive to transmission and rear axle
Driveline
A. Any steel drive shaft, production style with front and rear u-joints. driveshafts must be painted white.drive shaft safety loop required. 1/8 " thick loop or lakewood style , safety loop must be painted white, must be bolted in securely
Exhaust
A. Open, factory exhaust manifold or headers ok , must dump away from driver
Brakes
A. Must be opperative and lock up
B. Brake rotors must be steel
Batteries
A. All batteries will have a master disconnect switch
B. Switch must be clearly marked ON / OFF and within reach of driver strapped in seat
C. Suggested switch placement is center of dash within reach from both sides of car for emergency personel
D. All batteries must be mounted to chassis or frame with appropriate tie downs
E. No batteries allowed in drivers compartment
Fuel, Fuel pumps And Tanks
A. Pump gas only, no alcohol allowed
B. No nitrous oxide allowed
C. Use of electric fuel pumps allowed
D. Fuel pumps ON/OFF switch must be clearly marked and within drivers reach when strapped in car
E. Suggested switch placement is center of dash within reach from both sides of car for emergency personel
F. A low oil pressure switch is recommended for use with electric fuel pumps
G. Use of fuel cell recommended, use of boat style tank allowed
H. Fuel cell or tank must be enclosed in container of at least 22 gauge steel on all six sides
I. Fuel cell vent must have rollover check valve to prevent spillage in case of rollover
J. Fuel cell must be securely bolted to frame or chassis , frame must include rear hoop to guard fuel cell
Tires and wheels
A. Any tire and wheel combo OK
B. Tires must be racing or DOT
C. Use of snow tires , off road or lugs not allowed
Numbers
A. Car shall be numbered on both sides of car
B. All numbers must be of contrasting color
C. Numbers must be legible from the grandstands
