300 Sprint Rules
Safety Equipment
A. Fire Suit is recommended
B. Four point aircraft or racing belts
Body
A. All cars will be of an upright design and appearance
B. The definition of an upright design is a front mounted engine, in which the vertical position is to be maintained as closely as possible with a maximum of 1/2" of offset
C. The driver will be positioned between the engine and the rear axle with no offset
D. The chassis main rails, and main cage will be constructed of no less than 1 3/8" .095 wall thickness, steel tubing
E. A minimum wheelbase of 84" and a maximum of 92"
Engine
A.Any make automobile engine 4,6,or 8 cylinder with a maximum displacement of 300 cubic inches
B. Flat top pistons only
C. Maximum compression of 200 psi
D. Must use stock water pump
E. Cast iron or aluminum intake only
F. No aluminum heads on v-8 engines
G. No roller cams
H. Headers allowed
I. 4 or 6 cylinder engines may use factory fuel injection
J. NO Aftermarket fuel injection
K. Use of stock battery operated ignition systems only, electronic or points
L. Magneto optional, if you run magneto you cannot run a battery
M. Stock ratio rockers, rollers allowed
Rear Ends
A. Quick change allowed
B. No independant rear ends
C. All suspension must be mechanical with no form of electrical assistance
Wings
A. Maximum size shall be 25 feet square on the top horizontal section
B. Wing may be no wider than 60"
C. Wing may not extend further than the outer edge of the rear tire being run
D. Maximum size of vertical side panels shall be no more than 10 square feet per side, including tip on top and bottom
E. Top wing must be parallel to the ground
F. Maximum size for nose wing shall be 2'x 3'
Brakes
A. All cars must have brakes on both rear wheels
B. One brake front, one brake rear
C. Brakes must be kept in good working order
Wheels
A. No plastic rims
Fuel Cell
A. Use of fuel cell required in all cars
B. Fuel cell shall be securely mounted
C. Use of fuel shutoff valve required, valve must be within reach of driver seated in vehicle
D. No vinyl or plastic fuel lines allowed
Fuel
A. Fuel is restricted to pump gas ONLY
B. AV Gas is allowed
C. Fuel is subject to testing at any time by track official
